Policy and Advisory Officer, Landscape
The salary range for this post is £23,253 – £30,810. Depending on experience and qualifications we are offering a starting salary of up to £27,032. – temporary for 12 months in first instance, with the possibility of extension or permanency (Ref: 056-114)
You’ll provide effective advisory support on landscape related issues to colleagues across SNH, as well as external partners and the public. The main area covered will include North Lanarkshire and parts of Argyll and Bute.
As an Associate or Full Member of the Landscape Institute, or working towards this, you’ll be educated to degree level in an environmental subject – Landscape Architecture, Planning, Geography, Environmental Management or Environmental Assessment. With experience or an interest in this field, you’ll also have knowledge of the planning system, along with a sound understanding of landscape character and landscape and visual impact assessment techniques. Proven skills in project management and work organisation, problem solving, information and data gathering and analysis, are also essential. As travelling is an integral part of this role, you must have a valid driving licence or other means of transport.
You’ll also ideally have knowledge of the landscapes of the south of Scotland, as well as being able to use MS Office and other related IT systems.
